Tawich Distribution Inc is officially located in Wemindji, but our operations are predominantly located at the warehouse at the La Grande airport. This strategic location allows us to easily accommodate Hydro Quebec, Goldcorp, Radisson, and all of the Cree communities. While we have access to an almost unlimited line of products, we have developed partnerships with a few main suppliers to attain and deliver the best prices and services possible.

Founded in 1990, Tawich Construction Inc. (TCI) had humble beginnings when it entered the field as a residential construction company. Having been the first company that was created by the recently formed Tawich Development Corporation (TDC), the principal focus of the business was to provide employment and build residential homes for the community of Wemindji, two needs that were crucial to the healthy development and growth of the community.

The Tawich Development Corporation and the Cree Nation of Wemindji decided that it was time to expand the Community Store, in order to:

• Respond to a growing demand for better product and fresher meat, fruits and vegetables into the community;
• To avoid the financial bleeding towards cities neighbouring;
• To allow the community members to have access to goods and services in Wemindji.
• TDC has the community store as a priority and the community members satisfaction as their main goal with this exciting project.

Owned by Tawich Development Corporation, the Maquatua Inn was established in 1989 to accommodate tourist, travelers, and regional visitors.

Maquatua Inn is located at the mouth of the Maquatua River in Wemindji which is on the eastern shore of James bay, the largest inland sea in the world. The hotel also has a restaurant and boutique filled with arts and crafts made by local artists.

Maquatua Inn is a modern 2 star hotel that offers a total of 30 rooms in two different buildings. The reception staff is fully trained and can accommodate to whatever needs their clients may require. Maquatua Inn offers respectable quality hotel services to northern travelers.

The restaurant offers a variety of different daily complete meal selections and also many "short order" items to satisfy all our guests. There is a mini salad bar, a vast array of dessert selections, and our dining room accommodates people comfortably. Our staff will be happy to take your order and serve you at your table, but also all items are available to take home by calling.
