Accessibility
Tawich Development Corporation is committed to making this website usable by everyone in our community, including people who use assistive technology.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time project, and is considered whenever pages are added or revised.
What we have done
- Semantic page structure with headings, landmarks, and a skip-to-content link
- Text alternatives for meaningful images
- Keyboard access to navigation, menus, and the photo gallery
- Visible focus indicators on interactive elements
- Colour contrast tested against WCAG AA thresholds
- Layouts that reflow on small screens and when text is enlarged
- A pause control on the home page slideshow, which does not auto-advance for visitors whose device requests reduced motion
- Site search that can be operated entirely by keyboard, with results announced to screen readers
Known limitations
Some documents published on this site, including reports supplied in PDF form, may not yet be fully accessible. If you need any published material in an alternate format, we will provide it on request.
